The countertop furniture

The most classic pieces of furniture are the countertop ones, which reach the ground and are characterized by a sturdy structure, thanks to which they guarantee maximum solidity and safety. The support furniture combines functionality with aesthetics and are the most recommended for a complete and at the same time sober furniture, also because they allow you to take advantage of the entire available space. On the other hand, the use of space-saving furniture is an inevitable eventuality when dealing with a small bathroom; vice versa, in the presence of a more spacious environment, you can opt for larger and more capacious furniture, or even for complete proposals that include wall units and cabinets.

The suspended bathroom furniture

Suspended bathroom furniture, so called because it seems suspended on the wall and is not anchored to the floor, is gaining increasing success. As a result, the space under them is left free. In order for their installation to be possible and safe, the suspended furniture needs an anchor, to be made with a metal bar and dowels: it is not essential to refer to a load-bearing wall, but in any case the wall must have a suitable thickness. . Furniture of this type in most cases is adopted in modern style bathrooms, but obviously nothing prevents it from being used even in more classic environments, even more so if their limited size forces you to take advantage of any corner.

Bathroom furniture for large dimensions

When the bathroom does not give space problems because it is characterized by a very large surface, you can turn your attention to large furniture: on the market you can find solutions whose capacity can even be compared to that of a wardrobe. In many cases, furniture of this type has open wall units on one side and doors that close them on the other side. It is not uncommon, then, that these are suspended furniture, but they can also be free-standing or column-mounted. Large furniture finds its place both in the master bathrooms and in the bathrooms where there are no limitations due to limited spaces; made up of doors and drawers that alternate with open spaces, they can have from one to three doors. As you can guess, the variety of models to choose from is very wide: the different declinations include, for example, one or more mirrors, but also the presence of dimmable or directional lights. This means that, depending on personal needs and habits, you have the option of adjusting the intensity of the lighting or changing its direction.

When you opt for space-saving furniture, you have to support the need to combine functionality with ergonomics. The compact dimensions represent, as you can easily guess, the strong point of these solutions, which despite having reduced dimensions can boast a considerable and almost surprising capacity. The merit is their particular shape, which includes flap doors and pull-out drawers, but also shelving and small shelves that can be used as countertops. Finally, the practicality of the internal towel rails, which are integrated directly into the handles, should be emphasized, for a comfortable and compact but at the same time stylish bathroom furniture.

The choice of the washbasin

Bathroom furniture does not end only with the choice of furniture, the characteristics of the washbasin. The choice, in this case, is between a built-in washbasin and a semi-built-in washbasin. The first, in turn, can be of two types: if it is fixed below the surface of the top, it is referred to as an under-counter washbasin; if, on the other hand, its edges protrude and overlap with the top of the cabinet, it is called a countertop washbasin. As for the semi-recessed washbasin, on the other hand, it is so called because a part is built into the top and a part protrudes. It is particularly recommended for small bathrooms, since its size allows it to integrate into any environment. The minimalist style embraces a remarkable practicality that makes the semi-recessed washbasins highly appreciated in the most diverse contexts.

The sobriety of the design is one of the peculiar traits of the washbasin, which is designed in such a way as to create a harmonious balance with the taps. It is clear that the suspended columns or washbasins represent the way to go if the sink is not housed in the bathroom cabinet; however the cabinets with washbasin are very versatile and able to satisfy every type of need. Think, for example, of the countertop washbasin, which is especially recommended in those bathrooms that showcase a contemporary and minimalist style. It is a design element that leaves a considerable amount of space inside the cabinet: furniture that, for this very reason, can be enjoyed in its entirety, apart from the size of the siphon.

This valuable material is especially recommended for classic style bathrooms; among the other essences that can be taken into consideration are bamboo, mahogany, eucalyptus and teak, which, moreover, have the ability to withstand without particular problems even in environments that are characterized by a high level of humidity.

The laminate

Another material to use for bathroom furnishings is laminate: it is a coating whose appearance reproduces that of wood that can be applied to honeycomb and chipboard. For the bathroom top, the type of laminate called HPL is recommended, which is also the most valuable: great resistance is its peculiar feature, which allows it to withstand very strong stresses. The decapé effect laminate, on the other hand, is preferred for shabby chic bathroom furniture inserted in vintage or antique style bathrooms.

The handles and locking systems

Finally, the last aspect that must be paid attention to when furnishing a bathroom is that relating to the closing systems. There are many alternatives available from this point of view: not only the classic metal handles, but also the knobs and groove systems.
